Caledon Meals on Wheels Announces New Programs
Bolton, ON: Caledon Meals on Wheels is very excited to announce 3 new programs; “Let’s Exercise”, “Let’s Do Lunch” (both of these programs will be offered in Caledon and Orangeville) and “Let’s Read” (offered in Caledon).
These programs will allow seniors an opportunity to exercise, share lunch or library materials with a CMOW volunteer. A great opportunity to maintain those important social connections!
Program Coordinator Kim Pridham shared: “Just because a senior may not get out as much as they used to it doesn’t mean they can’t still enjoy great social activities in their own homes!”
CMOW’s “Let’s Exercise” program offers clients the opportunity to exercise every week in their own homes with a trained CMOW volunteer. These weekly exercise visits are free of charge and are a great way for clients to stay active and connect socially.
CMOW’s “Let’ Do Lunch” program offers clients an opportunity to enjoy lunch with a volunteer on a weekly basis. Volunteers are 55 years plus and will arrive at our clients’ homes each week with two delicious meals to be enjoyed together…an opportunity to foster new friendships, and sharing. Clients’ meals are $6 each.
CMOW has also partnered with Caledon Public Library’s Visiting Library Service to offer clients the opportunity to have library materials brought to their home and enjoy a friendly visit at the same time.
Exercise, nutrition and friendship are all important components of living a happy, healthy, independent life. If you might be interested in participating in one or all three of these great programs or would like to become a volunteer we would love to hear from you.
