volunteer Opportunity

Meal Delivery Driver Bolton and Orangeville

Deliver meals to residents in your community.  Volunteer drivers pick up meals in Bolton or Orangeville and deliver the meals to clients within a specified area. Route sheets and maps are provided with any special instructions. Drivers also provide a security check for clients, ensuring that clients are safe and will follow up with CMOW staff if they have any concerns.

Time Commitment: 1 hour per week (approximately), over the noon hour
Requirements:

Must be friendly, reliable and enjoy spending time with seniors. A vulnerable sector police check (no cost to volunteer) is also required, and driver must have their own vehicle.

Reimbursement & Training:

Mileage is paid and training will be provided.

FAQs

What if I am sick or going away on vacation? Do I have to find someone to take my shift?
No, our staff will find a volunteer to fill in for you if you’re sick. If you are planning to be away for a period of time, we ask that you give us as much notice as possible so that another volunteer can pick up your shift.
Will I deliver to the same people each time I drive?
You will be assigned a specific route and will generally be delivering to the same clients each time. Routes change often depending on clients joining and leaving the service, and the availability of our volunteers, so your route and the clients you visit could be different.
What are the Meal Pick Up and Delivery Locations?
Meals are picked up Monday, Wednesday, and Friday around 11:30am, at the Albion Bolton Community Centre for Bolton and Caledon routes at Lord Dufferin in Orangeville for Orangeville residents.
