Senior’s Wellness Program

Our weekly senior’s groups promote and support senior health, wellness and independent living. Whether it is an exercise class, discussion group or creative activity, guest speaker or entertainer, a seasonal party or a special luncheon, participants will get to enjoy their time with friends and neighbours!

We have groups available in the local senior buildings and in various locations throughout the community. All programs provide a variety of activities but typically include exercise taught and/or supervised by certified Seniors Fitness Instructors, social-recreational & educational activities, and of course refreshments.

Regular programs are free but there is a small fee for luncheons and euchre parties.

Please call us for more information about the days and times these programs are being offered. For all those Euchre players, ask about our Valleywood Cards Euchre Party on the second Tuesday of each month.

We ask that everyone pre-register so that we have enough food available for everyone who attends the party.

No, the menu is set (either a hot or cold lunch), but please notify us of any food restrictions, allergies or intolerances and we’ll try to accommodate your request.

Caledon Meals on Wheels gets funding and fundraises for our Senior Social and Wellness programs but unfortunately it isn’t enough. We charge a small fee to help cover the costs of the catered food that we are providing.

Our exercise program programs are led and/or supervised by our qualified Senior Fitness Instructors who receive their certifications through the University of Western Ontario – Canadian Centre for Activity and Ageing (CCAA). We develop our exercise programs to be suitable for all fitness levels so that it is accessible to all participants. The program consists of warm up and stretching exercises that are designed to help improve mobility and balance, as well as low level cardiovascular and muscle conditioning.

Yes, the programs offer gentle exercises that can be done in the standing position or seated in a chair.
